How to Add Instant Quotes to Your Home Service Website

An instant quote website shows a price from the customer’s answers instead of a contact form. Here is how to set the questions, rules, area, time, and deposit.

An instant quote website calculates a price from the customer’s answers while they are still on the page. A contact form only stores a message and waits for you to reply. If most of your calls are the same three questions, the website can ask those questions and show the number.

What you are replacing

The usual path is slow on purpose, even when you do not mean it to be.

  • Customer: how much to mount two TVs?
  • You: what sizes, and what are the walls?
  • Customer: goes quiet, then asks someone else.

The quote flow keeps them in one sitting: details, price, time, and an optional payment. You still set the rules. The page only applies them.

Ask only the questions that change the price

Every extra question lowers completion. Keep the ones that move dollars or tell you the job is unsafe to quote online.

TV mounting

  • TV size
  • Wall type
  • Fireplace or other special location
  • Cable concealment
  • Soundbar
  • How many TVs

A single 55-inch on drywall can be a listed starting price. The fireplace and the second TV should change the total, not start a new text thread. That is the idea behind the TV mounting checkout.

Cleaning

  • Bedrooms and bathrooms
  • Home size, if you price by square footage
  • Standard clean, deep clean, or move-out
  • Add-ons such as the oven or fridge
  • How often they want you back, if frequency changes the rate

Those answers are enough for a lot of recurring houses. They are not enough for a hoarded home or a construction clean. Say so on the page. The home cleaning page is written around that kind of quote.

Four ways to price the same business

Fixed

One service, one number. Useful when the work barely varies. Show the number. Do not make people click through a calculator to learn it.

Conditional

The price changes when a specific answer is chosen. Brick costs more than drywall. A fireplace costs more than a flat wall. The rule is tied to that answer, not to a free-text note.

Quantity

Each TV, each room, or each item adds its own price. Two TVs are not automatically double if the second mount is simpler, so the rule should say what actually happens.

Packages and add-ons

A package is a bundle the customer recognizes: exterior detail, interior, full detail. An add-on is the extra they can tick: soundbar, oven, pet hair. The total should show the lines, not only a final number, or they will not trust it.

Then close the booking, not just the quote

A price with no next step still leaks. After the number:

  • Check the ZIP if you only travel so far. A quote outside your area is not a lead, it is a complaint.
  • Offer times from your real hours, the length of that job, and slots that are still open.
  • Take a deposit or the full amount if that is how you hold the appointment. Some jobs should stay unpaid at booking.
  • Email you and the customer when the booking exists.

How to think about the deposit amount is in this deposit guide. Whether to show any price at all is in should you show prices online.

When not to quote instantly

Do not force a calculator onto work you would not price from a form in person.

  • The job needs a ladder, a panel, or a site visit before anyone honest can name a number.
  • The customer cannot know the answer. “What is the wall made of?” fails if they are guessing.
  • Liability is high and the wrong option would undercharge you badly.
  • The work is commercial, custom, or one-off.

For those, keep a quote request. Use instant pricing only for the repeatable slice of the book. Mixing both is normal.

How to launch it

  • Write down the last 20 jobs and the questions that changed the price.
  • Put only those questions in the first version.
  • Use starting prices you already charge. Do not invent a discount to make the form look cheap.
  • Put the checkout on the service page you already rank for, or link to it from the main button.
  • Read the first 10 submissions. Fix the question people skip or misunderstand.

MagicBooker is one way to run that flow: rules, area check, times, and Stripe. It is described on the features page. Build the first quote flow around one service before you try to cover the whole menu.
